Patsy Allen studied Art and design in Manchester. After a short career in advertising, she became a freelance artist and illustrator, illustrating her own children’s books, in collaboration with her husband, Tom, “The Rainbow Scarecrows”. 
The books were translated and enjoyed more than half a million worldwide sales. She was commissioned to sculpt the characters from the books for the major giftware companies with huge international sales.
She has undertaken numerous commissions, working for several local authorities, has conducted workshops for the National Trust and other organisations, as a member of Artists in Schools, and has exhibited her work all over the country.
Patsy was commissioned by Gorton Monastery, Manchester, to paint St. Francis in recognition of his 800th anniversary.
